None of Us
Can Do it Alone – There is No “I” in Team!
Think back to when you were a kid.
Do you recall how much you wanted your independence and to do things on your
own? Well, the truth is that none of us can do everything alone. In this
world, we do interact with others and have to rely on other people each
day. Think of the many examples of this: a good one is that we all have
to eat and buy groceries. Well, the groceries don’t just magically appear
on the store shelves. Someone has to stock the food and someone has to
unload the trucks which ship the food. Someone has to farm or produce the food
we eat, package it, and ship it out. In a grocery store, there is someone
who manages the operation, someone who orders the products, someone who stocks
it, and people to check you out when you purchase your items. It takes a
team to get food out to people.
Now, think of
your team. Pay attention to the roles of each person. Every person
plays an important part getting the job done. Imagine what would happen if you
had to do all of it alone! Your assignment today is this: look at the
people with whom you work and think about how each of them plays a role in
getting the job done. Also think about how your team plays a role in the
big picture. Practice thankfulness today at the role each person plays in
the big picture of the team.
