Lena Horne Stamp Event

The Dallas Post Office held a very successful Stamp Ceremony honoring legendary performer and civil rights activist Lena Horne at the Southwest Center Mall on March 22, 2018.  She is 41st in the Black Heritage stamp series.  There were over 175 people in attendance and Fox 4 News covered the event that celebrated Woman’s History Month.  Pictured (left to right) are: Dallas Country Commissioner John Wiley Price; Mistress of Ceremony Dr. Louise W. Davis; Ester Davis of the Ester Davis Show; Postmaster Yulonda Francis-Love; Mayor Pro-tem Dwaine Caraway; Dallas City Council Member Tennell Atkins; Lifeway Church Pastor Dr. Karen Hollie-Theaboreaux; and Keynote Speaker and Actor Kene Holiday from the TV series Matlock.

Dallas, TX, Main Post Office Supervisor, Customer Services Nadra McCain (left) and Retail Associate Sherry Williams (right) sold Lena Horne stamps to people who attended the Stamp Ceremony.  They made over $1000 in total revenue.
Dallas, TX, Main Post Office Supervisor, Mailing Requirements George McCullum II provided the entertainment by playing his soprano saxophone.
