A message from the District Manager Scott Hooper…

“Prepared, Not Scared”

Imagine you are at work or at home and your child is at school or on a playdate when a disaster strikes. Do they know what to do if you are not around?  It is important to have these conversations now and prepare ahead of time to be ready for the unexpected.

As part of National Preparedness Month, the Postal Service is encouraging employees to prepare for emergencies of all kinds, including flooding.

If a flood occurs in your community, will you be ready?

To stay safe, experts offer these tips:

Learn whether you live, work or travel through areas that are prone to flooding.

Sign up for emergency text alerts to receive timely information about weather conditions.

Know your community’s local flood evacuation plan and identify escape routes if roads are blocked.

Never go through flood waters.

Now is the perfect time to remind everyone across the Nation that no community is completely immune to disaster of one kind or another.  Being prepared for floods, wildfires, earthquakes, tornadoes, hurricanes, or even acts of terrorism can save money, save property, and most importantly, save lives.

Thank you for being so committed.  Your commitment to our public service mission and to delivering for our customers defines who we are as an organization and is the bedrock of all of our successes.
