A message from the District Manager Scott Hooper…
Taking Care of Business by Taking Care of Customers
We work for one of the greatest organizations in the world, and each of us plays a part in ensuring its future. One of the ways to do that is by focusing on identifying new sources of revenue. Every day, new businesses are opening up, providing opportunities to gain new customers. I want to start off by saying thank you, because our district has done a great job with the Employee Engagement Programs. We ended FY21 Q3 with almost $70 million in projected sales through Clerks Care, Customer Connect, Business Connect, Rural Reach, and Mail Handler leads.
This week, I am happy to announce that Dallas and Houston were chosen as the pilot sites for the new USPS Connect Local. This new offering will help small businesses provide local-to-local same-day or next-day package delivery at affordable rates. Business owners will be able to sign up at www.uspsconnect.com and use USPS Click-N-Ship online to enter package information, print shipping labels, prepay for postage and receive tracking numbers all in one place. Then they will bring their labeled packages directly to the back dock of a designated local postal facility first thing in the morning (5–7 a.m.) for same-day delivery, or 30 minutes before the back dock closes to receive next-day delivery to the ZIP code areas served by that location. They will then present their SCAN form and packages to the clerk and our carriers will deliver the packages as part of their daily routes.
Three offices in the Dallas area were chosen for the initial USPS Connect Local pilot launch:
• Joe Pool Post Office, located at 5521 S. Hampton Road, servicing ZIP Codes 75224, 75232, 75237 and 75376
• Juanita Craft Post Office, located at 3055 Al Lipscomb Way, servicing ZIP Codes 75204, 75210, 75215,75223, 75226, 75246, 75315 and 75371
• Beverly Hills Post Office, located at 2202 S. Cockrell Hill Road, servicing ZIP Codes 75211, 75233, 75236 and 75249
Please familiarize yourself with this new initiative, especially because it will continue to expand to other Post Offices in our district. USPS Connect is a major component of our organization’s 10-year Delivering for America plan and is expected to contribute to the plan’s goal of $24 billion in net revenue growth by offering direct access to the Postal Service’s delivery network. Each of us, no matter what job we perform, has a stake in the success of our organization and one of the ways we take care of our business is by taking good care of our business customers.
