The first grade students from Lamp Lighter School took a field trip to the Dallas, TX, Downtown Station on February 8, 2018.  Manager, Customer Services Sheila Roy (red shirt, facing the camera) explained how letters are sorted and put into the Post Office boxes.  The following pictures are from this event.
Dallas Downtown Station Supervisor, Customer Services Shirlonda Gillespie (far right) explained how the mail and packages are sorted each day.
Letter Carrier George Jackson (center, standing) explained what a typical day as a Carrier was like for him and encouraged the children to get to know their Mail Carrier.
Distribution Clerk Reggie Brown (center, holding packages) explained to the children how packages are sorted each day.
Letter Carrier PK Smith explained his duties and what a typical day was like for him delivering mail.


 

Retail Associate Dee Williams (center, blue shirt) told the children about how she assists customers with their shipping needs and the types of goods and services that the Post Office provides.
