Dallas, TX, Lakewood Station Donald Williamson (right) received a
customer compliment in the Dallas Morning News.
Pictured with him is Supervisor, Customer Services Sheria Overton (left)
who he thanked with a box of chocolates on Valentine’s Day.
Three cheers of kindness to the Mailman and our DMN Carrier – In
an era of great uncertainty, my family has been blessed for almost three decades
with the same loyal and unfailing sources of information, Mailman Donald
Williamson and Dallas Morning News Carrier Leonard Meyer. Through national triumphs and tragedies, a
kaleidoscope of presidents, neighborhood births and deaths, and kids growing up
and going to college. These men have
braved the weather, the dark before dawn and the occasional angry dog to
provide reliable service that borders on the preternatural. If there is a soundtrack to their lives, it’s
Aaron Copland’s Fanfare for the Common
Man. We salute them for the devotion
and excellence and the honor they bring to their professions. To borrow an accolade delivered in Larry
McMurtry’s Lonesome Dove, “splendid
behavior.”
