Finding the
Cheer for Yourself
During this time of year, many people
may wish you a “happy holiday season” but maybe you are having trouble finding
the happy. You might be stressed, feeling a financial crush of holiday
spending, or missing loved ones you have lost. While you may be “wished” a
happy holiday, others may not be doing much to help ensure that you have it.
Don’t wait for others to gift you happiness. Create it for yourself.
This holiday,
give yourself the gift of finding cheer. This doesn’t mean you have to go out
and max out your credit card on a big, expensive gift for yourself. It doesn’t
even mean that you have to give yourself a store-bought gift at all. It means
to gift yourself with happiness, with cheer. Each day offers things to find joy
in. Every time you wake up there is something to be thankful for and to smile
about.
Don’t look over
the little gifts throughout each day that you should be taking pride and joy
in. First, you woke up. This is a “gift” denied to many. Now, what’s your
second thing to be happy about today? What’s your third? How many things can
you find throughout your day that can help bring cheer to your life? See if you
can find more tomorrow!
