Hello—I’m Lisse Fish and I have just begun a detail assignment as District Manager for the Dallas District. Let me begin by saying I am thrilled to be here. I actually started my career in the Dallas District in 1999, as a Distribution and Window Clerk at the Chandler Post Office. I also worked as an Associate Supervisor in Athens and a Manager, Customer Service in Tyler, so being detailed here is like coming home.
My current position is Southern Area Manager, Delivery Programs Support. I love working with all of the Southern Area districts in that job, but there is nothing like being in the field during Peak Season. I walk through the North Texas Processing and Distribution Center and watch all the mail coming in on the docks and think about all the customers whose lives we are enriching by getting their holiday greetings and packages to their loved ones.
One thing I would like for you to know about me is I am all about the customer. In every decision that we make; in collecting, processing and delivering the mail, we must keep the customer in mind. At every retail transaction, we need to ask ourselves if we are doing everything we can to create a great customer experience—one that will keep the customer coming back week after week and year after year. Every time we contact a customer with a mail delivery concern, we should be asking ourselves if we are doing everything we can to resolve that concern to the customer’s satisfaction. Every time we deliver a mailpiece that requires scanning, we must ensure we are making the correct scans to give our customers real-time tracking information. And every time we place mail and packages in a mailbox, we must ensure accurate, professional delivery.
During this time of year, we have an opportunity to show the customers of the Dallas District what the U. S. Postal Service can do for them. Let’s put our best foot forward, safely, and end Quarter 1 with outstanding service performance and excellent customer service.
I know that you are working hard this season and I thank you for the great effort you are putting forth each day. We have a few more days until Christmas and the fast pace of the season will soon ease up. Until then, please keep the customer in mind in everything you do. They will reward us with their continued business.
I wish each of you a Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy New Year. Be safe.
