On October 11, 2017 a customer came into the Center
Post Office with an envelope postmarked February 21, 1976. It was a letter that his father, who was the
owner of a boot repair shop in Center, TX. received from a customer wanting his
boots repaired. The interesting thing
about this letter is it has no address but a map showing the location of the
boot shop. Not knowing the address but
providing a description of the location he sent the letter hoping that the Post
Office would deliver it to its destination. The letter was delivered and the
customer received the needed repairs to his boots. It goes to show that the Postal Service does
live up to its motto, “We Deliver!”
