Customer Compliment

Irving, TX, Central Station Retail Associate Melvita “Vita” Shoales (left) received a customer compliment while helping out at the Irving Main Post Office.  She is pictured with Manager, Customer Services Kenny Gilchrease (right).  Gilchrease remarked, “I’m very proud of the outstanding work she does on a consistent basis.”

I visited the Irving Main Post Office on Saturday September 30, 2017.  I walked in at 11:52 am and walked out at 12:02 pm.  When I got in line there were 15 people ahead of me with four SSAs and a lobby of folks waiting for passports (they also had a passport fair going).

 

I want to specifically commend your employee Vita (hope I’m spelling that correctly).  Not only did she help five of the people ahead of me herself, she gave a WONDERFUL little broadcast to the lobby stating they were very busy and were working as quickly as possible to ensure that everyone was helped.  She was SO POLITE.  She had the greatest demeanor as she was friendly, professional, and helped several people all at once.  She even swept the line stating where people could find things (drop off parcels, express labels, and other supplies).  She also had a customer come to her window with a package not ready.  In less than one minute she gave him supplies, some direction, and had him packaging his box while she helped the next customer.  Both of them were out of the line within approximately 2 minutes.

 

If I were to become a Postmaster, I would definitely try and get her to work for me.  I used to give Gold Stars and I don’t know if you have any sort of recognition you can give like a Certificate of Appreciation, but I did stop and get her name telling her she was doing an excellent job.

 

I copied Mike Cook on here because if he is ever doing a video for the area and this employee is willing, she would be fantastic to film.
