Carrollton, TX Main Post
Office Lead Retail Associate Roman Hailemariam (center) has a heartwarming
story on achieving the American dream.
In 1999, she was living in Ethiopia and won a lotto to come to the
United States. Hailemariam arrived in
Atlanta with a family friend in March of 2000.
She got her first job at a gas station and then got a second job at a
smoothie company. In 2001, she met her
husband who worked for the Post Office and moved to Dallas. Hailemariam received her citizenship in 2008
and they moved to Louisiana in 2011, when she applied for a job as a
clerk. Hailemariam came back to Dallas
in 2013 and worked at the Northaven Station before transferring to the
Carrollton Main Post Office where she has been giving exceptional customer
service to the people of Carrollton on a daily basis. She remarked, “I love America. This is the best country in the world. You can do anything and be anyone here. It changed my life for the better.” She was joined by Manager Post Office
Operations Amanda Morrell (left) and Postmaster Darwin Adams (right) who
thanked her for doing such a great job on a consistent basis.
