Desoto, TX, Letter Carrier Clubber Targton was nominated for the Postmaster General Hero Award after assisting a customer who had a heart attack.

City Carrier Clubber Targton went above and beyond in the service of her customer on June 20, 2018.  She was delivering mail on her route and the customer came to the truck to get the mail.  Clubber noticed the customer looked peaked and off color.  She inquired if the customer was ok.  The customer said that she was fine.  However, Clubber’s instinct kicked in and she asked for the husband’s phone number which the customer gave to her stating that she was fine.  The customer walked back to her house and collapsed unconscious at her doorstep.  Clubber immediately went to her and tried to revive her, but couldn’t.  She called 911 and started resuscitation on the customer until she became conscious again.  Clubber cooled the customer down with a frozen bottle of water that she had in her pocket and waited for an ambulance.  Upon the EMT arrival, Clubber called the customer’s husband and asked which hospital he wanted her taken to.  The following day, the husband called to Clubber to inform her that his wife had undergone a battery of tests and had a heart attack.  The Postal Service would like to applaud Clubber for being watchful, her quick thinking and caring for her customers.
