Annex Station Acting Supervisor, Customer Services Sheri Blackmon received a
customer compliment.
To Whom It May Concern,
I am writing to report the excellent help I received
finding a package that was going to be returned because I forgot the apartment
number on the address. Blackmon called me
from a Post Office in a Dallas suburb and worked with me over the next two
weeks to locate and verify the package was actually coming back to me. She was friendly and extremely helpful. Blackmon really went above and beyond any
other postal employee in doing her job and helping me. She was always friendly and eager to help
us. I just cannot say how wonderful it
was to hear from and work with her.
Please thank Sherry for her excellent work in finding and being sure a
package that seemed to have disappeared was returned to me. She is our nominee for your outstanding
employee!
Sincerely,
Happy Customer

Dear Ms. Taplin,
I spoke to you briefly
about the great customer service provided to me by one of the front line
professionals at the Duncanville Post Office, Glenda Richard. While she was asking me about the content
restrictions concerning the box I wanted to mail, I rudely interrupted. I did not intend to be rude. I guess I was on another wave length. Still, I came across as rude. Richard calmly reiterated and then helped me
through the process of getting the box into the mailing channels. She remained friendly and very, very gracious
throughout. My compliments to Ms. Richard
for her outstanding customer service on my behalf. I firmly believe she reflects a positive
culture at her workplace and the leadership there. I thank her so much for letting me walk away
a happy customer.
Sincerely,
Duncanville Customer

A message from the Acting District Manager Scott Hooper…
Teamwork is Critical to USPS Success
Whether you work in a mail processing plant, a retail unit, or deliver mail, teamwork can have a positive and profound effect on results. Working as a team takes a lot of hard work and many things are required to establish a successful team and positive work environment. For a team to be truly successful, it requires every team member's participation, including showing up for work when scheduled.
Did you ever consider what happens to your co-workers when you take unscheduled leave? The answer is simple, they have to pick up the slack and absorb the extra workload. When people abuse sick leave, it results in serious consequences for their team. Abuse decreases productivity and efficiency, increases overtime and processing costs, and worst of all, it lowers team morale.
All scheduled employees are needed every day to help their unit run efficiently. When you take unscheduled leave, your work doesn't go away. In order to meet daily expectations, that work will have to be reassigned to your team members. Many times, this can cause your team to miss important deadlines and fail in their mission to meet a critical goal. This disruption can have a ripple effect throughout the USPS ultimately resulting in unsatisfied customers.
To protect your future, it's important to bank your sick leave. It provides great value to you when accidents or unexpected illness strikes, or when you must care for ailing family members. It's important to remember that your team is counting on you and needs you to show up for work. Your contributions are instrumental in helping the Dallas District meet our customers' expectations.
