The Office of Continuous
Improvement is pleased to present the Fall 2017 Lean Innovation Awards. This
prize is awarded twice a year to the best Lean Six Sigma projects completed in
the USPS. The Second Place award goes to
the Dallas District and their Machine At-Risk project at the North Texas Processing
& Distribution Center (P&DC). This
team’s effort resulted in significant At-Risk improvement across several
equipment platforms within their facility and moved the National Performance Assessment
(NPA) score from cell two to cell six. Team
members that worked on the project included Tim Costello, Nimrod Salazar and
Yulonda Love, Larry Wagener, Lonnie Mooring, Ruben Moreno, Yulonda Mestas Derek
Truman, Sergio Reynoso, Kevin Almond, Sara Hall, Neyscha Mercado.
Larry Wagener, commented, “The
biggest difference was the team work between operations & plant support
with maintenance to achieve the goal.”
Lonnie Mooring, remarked, “Instead
of looking at the data on reports the next day, we were able to send out emails
every 30 minutes that showed what areas needed to be addressed at the various
machines.”
