Lindale, TX, Rural Carrier Johnny G. Johnson has retired effective March 1, 2017.  He has nearly 40 years with the Postal Service.  Johnson started his career as a RCA in Lindale in June, 1977.  He was promoted to a regular Carrier in 1980.   Johnson carried mail for 40 years and never had an accident.   He will be receiving a Million Mile Award for that rare achievement.  Johnson is married to his wife Cari and has three children and three grandchildren.  When asked what he was going to do now that he is retired, Johnson replied, “I now have the time to devote to my garden, farm, fishing and raising my dogs.  I will miss the daily interaction with my customers and the pleasure of providing customer service.”  Postmaster Kathy Downing remarked, “We will all miss Johnny’s outgoing personality and big smile.  He will be hard to replace!”
