A message from the District Manager (November)

You will all soon be receiving Postmaster General Megan Brennan’s Thanksgiving Day message where she expresses her gratitude for you and the job you do each and every day.  I, too, want to express my sincere appreciation to you.

I have been here in the Dallas District for two years and I am so very thankful for the opportunity to get to work with such a great group of employees.  I met a  number of you at last month’s Career Conference and I have to say that I was very impressed by the energy and enthusiasm displayed by everyone who       attended.  It gives me great hope for the future knowing that so many of you are committed to building a career with the Postal Service.

I am thankful to work in a district that joins together as a team with one goal in mind—to provide outstanding service to all of our customers.  I am thankful that you take safety seriously and work towards maintaining safe work habits and safe work environments so that we all go home safely each day.  I am thankful that you want to generate revenue by providing customers information so they can choose the best product or service for their needs.  I am thankful that you want to grow our business by submitting leads and by scanning each and every package to enhance our customers’ shipping        experience.  And I am thankful that because of your efforts to keep the mail moving, we are expecting another record-breaking holiday mailing season!
You make me proud to say I’m the District Manager of the Dallas District and I hope that you are proud to be a part of this great team.  Next week as I celebrate Thanksgiving, know that I will be giving thanks for the opportunity to work with you.

And as you celebrate Thanksgiving Day, I encourage you to take the time to reflect on the many things in our lives for which we are grateful—our families, our friends, our coworkers, our health and our jobs.  Share that feeling of gratitude with all of those around you and make it a true Thanksgiving Day.
I wish each of you and your families a safe, happy and healthy Thanksgiving!
