A message from the District Manager Scott Hooper…

A Season of Thankfulness This is the time of year we begin to reflect on the things for which we are thankful. It has not been an easy year for most of us as we continue to try to work through a pandemic, but on this Thanksgiving Day, I encourage you to focus on the many things for which we are grateful: our family, friends, co-workers, and yes, our jobs. Too often, we get caught up in the feverish pace of everyday life and don’t take the time to appreciate just how fortunate we are. One of the things for which I am most thankful is the incredible spirit of service and commitment shown by Dallas District employees to the communities they serve. This past month, you provided the timely, accurate and secure delivery of election and political mail and helped ensure every person’s vote counted. Many of you worked extended hours, made extra trips, collections, and deliveries. I want to thank every Dallas employee who played an important and vital role in staying vigilant in identifying, properly handling, and delivering election mail-in ballots. I also want to thank and recognize our military veterans. A couple of weeks ago, we expressed our gratitude to our veterans who served or continue to serve our nation. We owe them a debt we can never fully repay. Thank you for your service, sacrifice, patriotism, and for your contributions to the Postal Service. Through your work ethic and dedication, many of you serve as leaders and/or role models for employees who are just starting their careers or to those who are more seasoned in the workplace. Lastly, I appreciate everyone’s cooperation as we head into peak season. Preparations are well under way across the district, including hiring, securing supplemental facilities, formulating transportation routes for our network, planning efficient runs at our plants, and readying our retail units for holiday customers. This is what we do best, it’s our season to shine. Again, thank you for all that you do, and I wish everyone a happy and safe Thanksgiving.
